West U19 @ Darlington Festival

An enjoyable day of rugby for those U19's who could raise themselves out of their pits this morning. Ultimately it was to prove unsuccessful as we exited the tournament at the end of the league section even though we were unbeaten.
We had Penrith, Darlington B and MacMillan College in our group
Game 1 - West 0 - MacMillan College 0 - we were by far the better team but failed to score!
Game 2 - West 15 - Penrith 14 - as you would expect a real tough encounter vs some big strong lads
Game 3 - West 24 - Darlington B 5 - the game where we should have scored more points - lacklustre at times, it would cost us.
So we tied with MacMillan with 7 points in the league, tries scored was next and this showed 6 a piece but MacMillan beat us on points difference which was 29 to 20 in their favour.
So a bit of a disappointment but we aquitted ourselves very well and several spectators from other teams made positive comments about the lads. Perhaps the fact that we are not a regular team held us back.
MacMillan were to lose the final 13 - 0 to a very useful looking Darlington A side - it would have been nice to have pitted ourselves against them - unfortunately a chance lost

17 years olds are allowed to play at U19 level, as per RFU guidelines.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Well we had only had 5 or 6 lads in the A side who were actually under 19s ?

This website has an annoying knack of digressing and taking the shine of what was a brilliant day and an advert for local junior rugby in Durham County along with raising £500 for the Jack Smith Trust Fund.

I agree with Chris Harrison, a Darlo / West final would have probably been a much better contest as you looked to play far better rugby than a one dimensional Macmillan side.

it wouldnt of made any difference how old the rovers team were the team we put it would of anilated them. For a team that was thrown together just for this tournament they were better than any one thought they were gonig to be. good to watch from the side lines got a good tan aswell

... and the RFU continuum (as per your reference to 6.2, which is for Age Dispensation) only applies to youth rugby up to U12 level!!!!!!
So what you on about?
