good performance by the stags, I thought tinker had a really good game - especially in defence. it was one of the most bizarre refereeing performances I've seen - it didn't affect the outcome of the game but it was just very strange

There was a couple of earlier comments, plus of course the ref debate on your website recently. No ref should have to come onto a website and defend his actions after petty comments are made about his actions.

The ones making the comments should get themselves on a referee course and try a few games. I bet they soon change their tune!
Refs are a rare enough as it is without folks making negative comments.
Last thing we want is a ref walking away from the game because of some pathetic comments made about him/her.

i don't think it's fair to say that the ref from the stags heughers game "had to come onto a website and defend his actions". he merely went on to enter into the debate about his decisions and fair play to him for doing so. i think it's a good idea that he explains some of the reasoning behind his decisions, it gives an insight to those involved both playing and spectating.

surely no ref is in danger of leaving the game just because one or two people disagree with a few decisions.....doesn't that come with the territory!!
