It all depends on whether or not you were reffing on the above said date.

That game was only my fourth game ever as a referee and my first of that season. In fact it was the first Level 10 game I had ever done.

Ref,

Don't bite! Whatever happened on that day, and I think I know what it was, is very important to Broken Army. However, it was just another incident in the eighty minutes on that day years ago. I'm sure that he feels that you are responsible for the incidents, and not the perpetrators.
As you've already noted, it isn't the referee that stamps on or punches an opponent.
Regarding your comment on experience and level of game. It was what it was, and at that level not all matches are refereed by a qualified referee. As such, you don't need to make any excuses. That said, there are enough "old hands" playing at that level. They should quickly realise how the referee is controlling the game, or not, and take care of the situation. For me, that was always the benefit of having the mix of youth and experience in those games. The "old hands" certainly helped me to referee! All joking asside, the after match pint is always a good learning opportunity.
It's probably best to forget the past, and get on with the future. So I'll wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year from the northern wastes of Aberdeen.

Hi Chris...good to hear from you and Merry Christmas to you.

What I find bizzare is that I have no idea what he is on about and dont even remember any incident of any sort. Thats why I am perplexed.

Ben, the ref may have missed it or mis judged what happened to you and your gimpy arm (Sorry) but he did not kung fu kick you did he? No, i know the player should have been punished more than he was but time to move on mate, it was a fair time ago.
not the ref's fault and without the ref, no game is there.
Cheers

Dont get me wrong, i dont blame Ref for the incident one little bit, but the action afterwards, I do.

I just wish i knew who the perpetrator was.

Anyway thats all its off my chest now.:-)

am I missing something here. Its as if I am a parallel world as I have no idea what any of you are on about....broken arms and kung fu kicks. Sounds like you have all been watching Big Trouble in Little China....

Quinny, sorry but i disagree, this is the first time i have been able to let my thooughts known to the match official on that day, i have never said he was the one who kung fu kicked me, just that the action afterwards was in my opinion not good enough, in no way was the ref at fault for me breaknig my arm.

The lad who did it if I knew who it was i would also let him know my thoughts.

As i have said above I have said my piece and let my thoughts be known about the decision, and thats that, it is now forgotten about with regards the refereeing decision.

I also know without refs no game but are we not allowed to air our opinions? Referee's have a bad enough time as it is, but surely if someone thinks they have made a mistake then we should be able to air our opinions? Doesnt mean i am right though.

I am confused........what happened as I have no recollection of any of this at all. In fact i dont recall anybody speaking to me after the game about any incident and cant remember any lonmg periods of stoppage to deal with an injury.

Obviously we miss decisions and cant see everything....but this incident which has been highlighted to me for the first time in 3 and half years seems bizarre.

Glad i had this debate now, got my date for next op. Must be fate.

See you all on a field near you in March hopefully, or might make it 19th April, that would be good game to come back to. :-)

Broken Army,

Good luck with the op. Been through a load of ops myself, but on a leg. It was that which guided me towards refereeing. Worth a thought!
