Final League Table
Posted by: wonderfish (IP Logged)

Being particuarly bored at lunchtime today I went through the remaining fixtures in North 2 East and picked winners in each. According to my calculations the final table will look like this:

West Hartlepool 42
Driffield 32
Durham City 30
Morpeth 30
Aspatria 24
Pontefract 23
Hartlepool Rovers 23
Old Crossleyans 22
Gateshead 18
Carlisle 12
York 8
Aldwinians 0

The big movers being Rovers and Morpeth, West to canter to victory and their only defeat coming at Driffield away.

So to summarise; West for automatic. Driffield to lose in a playoff!

Carlisle, York and Aldwinians for the drop.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

you need new material, good buddy. And no surprise you spend your lunch breaks on your own if this is all you can manage.

Why not try the Rovers' site - they are not as sharp as we are and may tolerate fellow dullards for a bit longer than we do.

And before Disco piles in ........... Wonderfish is not from West so you can not extrapolate wildly and condemn all West fans as arrogant.

And why anybody should listen to a man who stays in on Friday night is a fair point!

Hello Stan, are you going to the Boxing day game?

Stop hijacking threads! Yes my plan is as follows:

watch West slaughter Rovers and then wait a long time to get served at Rovers before heading back to the promised land to buy Andy Quinn a pint - it has almost become a tradition.

And on a subtle point for us exiles - how are we to pronounce '3Ams' ??

If we do win on Boxing Day we are then looking at a Magnificent 7 wins over Rovers, although the Stags will probably ruin things by beating Rovers in the Pyman Cup - magnificent 8 is not quite the same.

Excellent Eleven? Am I missing something here - there are 15 players in a rugby team, are you thinking of football?:oD

Nah!!! ''If we do win on Boxing Day we are then looking at a Magnificent 7 wins over Rovers, although the Stags will probably ruin things by beating Rovers in the Pyman Cup - magnificent 8 is not quite the same.''

Plus the 3 in April hopefully will make 11 wins!!!

Quinny - I hate to become Mr. Primary Teacher but ........

December = 3 wins

Boxing Day = 1 win (possibly)

Pyman Cup = 1 win (possibly)

April = 3 wins (possibly)

This = 8 wins

Dunce's cap for Mr. Quinn!

Cannot understand why Wonderfish has been slated for this or why we have some daft messages ruining what could be an interesting debate
I think the half way point is an interesting time to speculate on how things will pan out and I sincerely hope he is correct.

I have been having a look on the Rugby Union site and reckon it will finish up

West 40
Durham City 34
Driffield 30
Morpeth 28
Aspatria 32
Pontefract 27
Hartlepool Rovers 25
Old Crossleyans 22
Gateshead 16
Carlisle 16
York 8
Aldwinians 2

is it two specific games you think west will lose WPA? or just a general 2 losses before the end of the season.

Before Disco or someone like him gets excited - I am not saying that I think it's ridiculous that anyone would suggest that west would lose a game this season, I am simply asking WPA a question!

The reason why I 'slated' the Fish was just his rather overplayed point - coming so close to his Congratulations West thread. Point is that if you wish to be taken seriously, then fair enough but I don't know if he is trying to make a point or just being a doyle (thank you, Disco) as he does have a penchant for stirring - as he did before the derby game.

But in all honesty I find such predictions rather foolish - the list of variables makes this kind of speculation rather pointless

How many points do you need to be considered safe from relegation?

Stan, i see what you mean now!!! I got a little carried away i suppose :oP

But...West Stags and 3Ams could beat rovers in county cups making it 10!!! :oP:oP:oP:oP

Be a good game if West need to win to win the league and Rovers need to win to stay up!

With 18 points considered the safety margin I suppose that’s the first major hurdle jumped.

SCH is that one way canoe hire or do you have to return it?
