Any chance of saggy getting his way with such a big local derby with so much at stake could the fixture be played on SUNDAY i think the crowd would be so much bigger?????????

A sunday kick off would be better considering Old Boys and Seaton are both playing also so crowds are going to be split.

Not a bad suggestion but I cant see it hapening to be honest. Lads make arrangments to play Saturday afternoon and its not always easy to ensure everyone's available if that changes.

Is the Dark Side open on Sundays?

it's too late now anyway, but despite the support of the idea from saggy and a lot of fans, apparantly the commitee's just aren't interested in the idea.

Sorry. Rugby is a Saturday game and a social game. The players play on a Saturday afternoon and enjoy their Saturday night and recover on Sunday.

The players would be interested for sure, there is nothing better than playing in front of a big crowd. The problem is that it never get suggested to the players.

On the wrong thread (Scott Jordan one), Roy said:

"Then you re-arrange the kids"

It's not quite as easy as that, Roy.
The M/J fixtures are in place before the Senior fixtures.
M/J rugby takes priority on a Sunday.
The U8s-U12s fixtures are set by the County not the clubs.
Some Sundays we have 300 kids and their parents/coaches/families on site and they don't start to disperse until about 1:00pm.
So hosting a Senior game the same day would be very difficult.

In theory, I agree with a Sunday fixture, as it will attract many folks that can't make the Saturday fixture, but to re-arrange M/Js would be a mare.

Double time Stu?
Wouldn't get out of bed for that.

Beverley and Ionians re-arranged their game for a Sunday and a very large crowd came out; I think it's a cracking idea but obviously too late for this week.

You'd be lucky to see a night game at all. Think about it.

Perhaps before Junior fixtures done for next year, could think about this and arrange big derby games for a Sunday???

Just a thought like, but has anyone thought that a lot of players and supporters from the other clubs in the town may not be particularly interested in the derby game. Also a lot of players will not relish playing on a sunday as they like the recovery time a sunday gives you before going to work on Monday morning. The exertion players put in leads to lots odf aches and pains and it is nice to have a days rest

You also need to consider that the referee for this game is from Liverpool and it would not be cost effective for Liverpool Society to send refs on different days etc.
