No, fair play, WPA, I think it was a very good point you raised. The lads are playing well, but it would be all too easy to become complacent and ultimately it is these kinds of matches that can easily be lost. Good to see the players share your view.

Well, Carrotts, I have come out of the closet on the Rovers' Board as I do have some Dark Side connections via the mighty Mayfield Bowls Club. (Along with young Nogger's dad.) They are so hardline that they are still bitter about the attempted West hartlepool Council take-over in 1948.

But the Carnival at Seaton would be a much better venue.......... save all us arrogant West fans the long drive over from behind the Park :oD

can i ask what is arrogant about being confident of winning a game when we are 9 from 9 so far?
for the record i personally feel we will have a very tough game on saturday as gateshead always produce sides that know how to play good rugby!

I think all this antagonism is due to there being no 1st team fixture last week.

I think Gateshead will provide a tough match this week, bouyed by their victory against Asps, they haven't lost badly home or away, but I'm sure if West play to their abilities they will turn over another good result.

Personally I think its a great shame West lost against Lymm, as the second round match would have been Stockport v West. Stockport are top of N2W, and it would have been a great test, league v league.

For the record, Stockport beat Lymm 32 - 15, and results of other teams from our league were:

Asps 10 - 9 Durham City
Old Croc 22 - 32 Broughton Park (N2W)
Penrith 16 - 18 Carlisle

Penrith are bottom of North 1, well done to Carlisle for that result.

Kell has moved to centre, after being man of the match playing as the scrum half against Asps. Foster is now scrum half, Ingham is at 7, other than that it is the same team that played Asps so it should be strong. 25 of the 30 points they scored against Asps came from their backs.

Kell and Burns both guested for West U17s on their tour to New Zealand about 6 years ago with Anth Carr, Carl Miller, Phil Wallis, Ryan Phillips, Philly Butler, Will Richardson, Chrissy Williamson,Steve Clayton, Elliott Stead etc.

Be interesting to see how they have develloped.
