I wonder!

Cast your mind back to the 8th Septmeber 2007, aswell as England just about sneaking past the USA in the World Cup, it was the first game of the season in N2E, and at Brinkburn West deservedly beat a very much depleted Durham City side, 22-9!
Whilst i appreciate that West are unbeaten all season and look to be in promotion form, looking at the results of Durham City since that game... unbeaten in 8 games without a student in sight, i wonder if West would get the same result if game was this saturday!

Looking forward to March 29th down at Hollow Drift!

Lot of rugby to be played before then.

We at Hollow drift are very pleased with west leading the way, great for the North east and it would be even better to have two north east sides gunning for promotion. Obviously we are playing Aspatria in their back yard which is a different prospect all together but only time will tell. I am pleased that rugby clubs that work hard are leading the way not clubs where the money does the talking but Durham are by far from the finished article yet with a number of people playing out of position and injuries probably the same with every club but the main point of this rant is "Good Luck West, clubs are at the top of this league because they deserve it not because they can afford it"

Another cheap and juvenile shot.
Thanks for your best wishes rub a dub. As Wonderfish said somewhere else it is a refreshingly competitive league this season with proper 'club rugby' being played.
The games I have seen have all been played in the right spirit and the standard of refereeing has been pretty good.

I'm still wondering.....given City stuffed Pontefract at the weekend and now find themselves in 2nd spot 'hot on the heels' of West, i wonder! I wonder!

I am sure you do.If I was you I'd keep on wondering until after you've played Aspatria this weekend.

Durham 36 - 7 Aspatria does that answer your question WPA

I've wondered enough! Aspatria were stuffed!

Good result for you and it now looks very much like a two horse race. I don't know what has happened to Aspatria in recent week because they looked like a good well organised side.
It just goes to show that you have to keep your focus.

Aspatria have lost there last 3 games but they are still a good side and will finish in the top 4. WPA, what you haven't mentioned in your post or choose to ignore is that City are winning games for reasons other than the opposition 'losing focus'!

Dax I was commenting on Aspatrias fall from grace not Durham's very good run.
I would comment further on both clubs but it is impossible to find out any information on them because both City and Aspatria have the world's must useless websites with no match reports or anything

Dax - why are you so keen on picking a fight? This league is so competitive and there are often a lot of 'surprise' results - who would have given Rovers any chance a few weeks back against the then current top two? But as WPA comments, it is easy to lose focus and drop points against supposedly easier teams.

Why not enter into a more enlightened Board with a bit of manners and stop trying to be so argumentative?

I would agree with you that both websites aren't that good!

I'm certainly not intending to 'pick a fight', what i was trying to point out is that City's run of form has more to do with opposition losing 'focus'!
I agree with you that there have been surprise results, no more than Rovers beating Aspatria last week, altho i suppose Rovers won that game because Aspatria lost there 'focus' and not that Rovers actually deserved to win the game! Sorry, is that me picking a fight again!

Wish I'd gone to play golf instead of trying to explain plain English.
The losing focus bit was a warning to our lads. Once you lose a couple of games on the bounce you lose confidence and get into the sort of slide that Aspatria have. I am talking about the four games they have lost not just the one at Durham.
Now go away .
