Amazing how good news can be spun into something that could be bordering on civil war. Well done to ALL the Ams who played a part yesterday (that was the whole squad as every sub had a run out).

Lets hope those 17 / 18 year old lads who have / are just making their senior debut enjoy the future and those senior players who have done a fantastic job with the Ams over the last few years keep a watchful eye on their younger brethren.

And what point was that?

how players who already played earlier play above subs.

Just a thought.

I dont care really how it happens I dont play.

I think i need to look into it. I can't honestly remember who it was and why it happened but back at the end of the week and will try to work it out ;-)

That fine. Just seems a bit strange.

it was Tonesy who had played some part of the stags game and then came over to the Ams game and came on for GF when he came off injured 5-10 minutes into the game.

I think its brilliant all these youngsters coming through but just don't want the older lads to get pee'd off after they have helped the ams survive over the last few years.

This is both my point of view and some of the lads as well, as i was talkin to a few during the game

I know and understand what you are saying and Mark Tones was named on our bench line up as he ain't played a lot.
As i said teething probs and will get better for all concerned...i hope ;-)

instead of bickering y not find another 4 players and have a AMS second team

Not bickering...at least i don't think i am. I was trying to explain what was going on. It is the long term plan to try to get to 4 teams. Would be great to be honest, heading back to where the club should be!

Chris H is a stickler for lads who regularly train and those who don't.

Its not a dig or finger point but just a hint to all players who think they have a devine right to be in the starting line up.

On the other hand and not trying to upset anyone here but really Chris H ain't got a lot to do with the Ams/3rd team running. But i understand he is going to take on the coaching role/ side of it.

We know what Chris is like about training, he trained (and Nick S) the Ams from the start.

But also not all players can train, but deserve a start now and again.

If its gonna be you train or dont start regime then just about all the Ams aint gonna start which isnt right.

Just my opinion and am trying to look at things objectively.

If I could play I would happily train whenever I could, but I cant so thats that

I also think this thread is good because it is an opinion based thingy and if surely only good can come of it.

Andy - Unreserved apology - With the U18's folding I thought Chris H was now the Ams coach and responsible for their team selection - sorry for the misunderstanding.

I will just stick to being an avid supporter of all the West senior & junior teams.

Me n wor las had a great day yesterday an went home bladdered minus £60 cos we where drinking Fosters and Bulmers in the club.

1st team only as strong as 2nd team only as strong as 3rd/ ams behind it. Real selection problems, albiet good 1's for tim , graeme and chris. ams should really start to accept that 3rd team is the future. Younger players are hungry for success.THIS CAN ONLY BE ACHEIVED BY MOVING AWAY FROM THE AMS ETHOS. Whats left of the Ams can only help the future of the club as a whole by taking this on board and helping too bring this abundance of young talent on. So stop moaning about players having a couple of mins with the stags then playing for the 3rds . these lads are hungry and want the exposure. 2nd team coach played for 3rds.Do you think this only too batter himself even more.OR WAS HE ALSO LOOKING AT FUTURE 1ST TEAMERS. You old heads can help bystopping moaning and looking to the future of the club as a whole.

Im not sure how many points have been made on this thread so I am not going to try and answer them.
Rather just say that those people who do have problems or issues have to come to me or andy or whoever else is helping out with the 3rds / Ams and discuss them.
Selection on Thursday night did not finish until about 10pm (we finish training at 8.30) so decisions are not taken lightly and we have long discussions about players/teams etc.
We had 24 players on Saturday ( thats actually getting to the point of being unmanageable) and we try and keep them happy but it is very difficult or more likely impossible.
As Andy has said an aim of ours is to try and run a 4th Team at some point but that will require the help of all players to drag players into the club some of whom are retired Ams.
So if players want definite, full games then get some of your mates to come down and we will find people to manage the team.
See you all on Saturday at home to Wensleydale!

Its all good to me personally.

I aint having a go anyone here, just passing comment.

maybe a rotation would work, as said before nt all people can train.

I dont mean every other game someone who hasnt trained plays, but at least a strat now and again.

As Quinny has said early days and bring on a 4 th team it would be brilliant for all involved.

Its a good prediciment to be in and I am sure other Clubs would be envious of this.

The current U17's plus the U16's have large squads and are county champions and have some fantastic kids so a 4th / development team needs to be considered sooner rather than later cos we don't want to be upsetting anyone next year.

I am off now to watch a repeat of One Foot In The Grave
