not excusing whatever it was that WPA saw (I was a long way from it and so have no idea what it is), but how many of us, as supporters have seen some sort of out-of-order cheap shot that's gone unpunished by the ref? We've all seen loads of them and probably done a lot of shouting about it, but how many of us have actually ran onto the pitch???

El Pedalo

Not 'stirring' at all, please see later post from Arkwright who has confirmed the report I received from a (West) fan at the game (no not WPA).

Not the first time this has happened with this player. I saw a similar incident at the West v Penrith game last year and that was noticed by most people bar, most importantly, the referee.

As for Davies, presumably one can only despair if you're a Westie.

AQ

Involvement from the touchlines? Please see various posts after the West Stags v Hordle Pyman Cup Final.............at that time many people at West could see no wrong in it.....

Overall, the events at various local grounds over recent weeks only serves to blight the name of rugby football and will do nothing to attract people to take up the game.......unless they're up for a scrap that is.

Suggest you Rovers lot mind your own business and stop stirring. Did any of us come on here or go on your site when Mark Power got sent off the other week or start commenting on last weeks carry on at with BBOB. No we didnt because we are not sad bastards like you.

RoverandOut, regarding the Pyman cup episode. It was lads who were involved with the stags who actually thought the game had finishedwho started celebrating.
This is nothing like the alleged incident on Saturday and you know it and should know better :-!

We can go back weeks, months, years people and say well 'A did that' or 'B said this' or 'C threatened so and so' but the sad fact is that Hartlepool & District rugby is going through a pretty bad period.

Our reputation has been damaged by a number of matches and incidents, not just what went on at Brinkburn on Saturday.

Fingerpointing is not gunna get us far, its up to all clubs to put houses in order

I beg your pardon.
I merely explained why the Middlesbrough supporter ran on the pitch.
I have every confidence that our club will take the right approach to both of these incidents. I wonder if Middlesbrough will be having a word with their full back who ran in and kicked off the melee at the end? That is not to excuse Davies.

CB

Get down off your high West horse.

Whether you or anyone else did or did not go on our site about Mark Power's red card is immaterial. I asked a sensible question and have had further feedback from a Boro fan today. There's a bit in the Echo today but I haven't seen the Bugle yet. For what it's worth I think everyone at the said match agreed with Mark's red card and we would have said so if someone had asked us the question.

The Pyman Final scenario is worth remembering. That night there had been a couple of yellows, some verbals between players and spectators, a stamping, a ding dong between two Hordle players and a disputed decision leading to the winning try. I reckon it would have been very easy that night for a fan to have lamped a player, or more likely, the other way round.....that's why everyone should keep off the pitch bar the players.

What everyone should be dwelling on, and only Saggy has had the nous to do it, is the final paragraph of my post. The last few weeks have not been good for the image of rugby, the two 'incidents' at West just being the latest sad events.

I'll get off my high horse if you stop using your own version of cheap shots. At the Pyman Cup final the crowd were hardly on the pitch. It was the replacements celebrating with the players right on the touchline. That's all.
How can you have a proper opinion when you werent at the game? I didnt see Power's sending off cos I wasnt there. I have heard about it but it would be daft of me to comment on it co of something I was told down town. Same goes for you.

Difference here Cb is that I got the same version from West and Boro supporters...........................and as they're trusted informants I see no reason to doubt their word. You'd be better off straitjacketing your two errant forwards rather than having a pop at me.:-!:-!
