not true...sorry. As i said before, the Ams had this planned but any other week i would willingly expect the Ams to move up and play for the Stags

Well just to sign this off from City. We cancelled our third team league match Tursday last week to field a side combined of 3rds and 2nds together to play "the stags". So you can imagine how happy our 3rd team guys were on saturday at 1pm when they ended up with no rugby.

However these situations happen to all clubs, perhaps next time you could send through what numbers you had and I'm sure we could have loaned players or played 10's or even 7's to get a game going rather than 20 - 30 players missing out completely.

Very magnanimous. I trust our coaches are looking at this situation and I hope the players are as well.

Robo Biro,

I would imagine there are a few lads in your Rovers 2nd team that have played 1st team in the past and still aspire to that level in the future. Surely then playing against better standard players should not phase them but rather inspire them and help them regain their 1st team slot. After all, no one should ever be considered to be 'always' a first teamer or 'always' a second teamer, etc.

If you want an easy game each week mate, choose your fixtures more carefully or try lawn bowls.

Sanctuary Knockers,

Apologies again from West for your boys who missed out on Saturday, just remember there were a number of 'regular' Stags just as gutted as your lads at the cancellation. Hopefully the game can be fulfilled at a later date.

I'm off to the dentist.

Read my post Gumshield.

We had hoped to play two seperate fixtures:-

2nds versus Stags
and
3rds versus Sunderland.

We were not worried about playing you, at all its a game we all look forward to. If we were worried we would have chosen to go and play an easier fixture (no offence Sunderland). So we reluctantly phoned Sunderland to cry off.

Players should move up to fulfil the more senior fixture, that is the point that I am trying to put across. You moved players down to play us when you had no real need to.

Am's players were stood on the sideline watching, if i was am AM's player, I would not have been too happy about that and might have thought 'stuff you'.

What goes around comes around, 2 of Cities teams have been the ones to suffer this time, once again I applaud you....Well Done!

Regards
Finbar aka Lee Saunders

i really am sick of listening to you crying about this. i've got no idea where you got 5 first team players from. we had nogger (would have had to be uncontested scrums game without him) and gav painter (mash didn't turn up at the last minute ans no other backs available. and he's 17). I assume another 2 of the players you refer to are mossy and and lambert? think i'd be right in saying we scored all of our points before they were on the field!

so please shut up!

Most of the Stags could easily turn out for the First team and do themselves justice, and also Finbar the Ams were fine with the selection

add to what oldge said... Nogger and Gav Painter have just made the step up to the first team this season and so its hardly putting ringers into the stags is it?

RoboBick the new name in moaning is demonstrating exactly the sort of attitude that this thread was talking about - players who spit their dummy out. We want players who are commited to playing whether they get moved up, moved down, dropped, have a couple of games cancelled etc

I had said all I was going to on the matter (regarding the stags v heughers game) in a previous post.

The point being made was that their were at least 5 players who would have been playing first team had their game gone ahead (including Moss as another to add to the list), while other stags/ams watched from the sidelines.

If your selection was so defensible I am interested to know why you didn't bother the other week when it was first mentioned.

with everything said above it would be appropriate if a stag would explain reasons for not training or turning up for games

Regarding the stags v rovers match , you can`t knock lads wanting to play rugby , Ok there was 1 st team players there , but bare in mind they all played for the stags last season and still enjoy a run out with their mates , they grew up together at west after all , i believe theres talk on here about players NOT turning up , heres an example off the opposite , and no i don`t think its just becouse it was Rovers .

someone has rattled my cage again. there have been several comments made about a lack of commitment from some stags this season with regards to training. whilst i agree with some of the things said about letting team mates down on saturday some of the other things have been quite simply wrong.

the main thing that has been said (that has got my back up) is about players who dont show total commitment should not bother at all (this has been said by people around the club as well as on here). this is a very bad thing to suggest! i will use my self as an example. i do not train but if i say i'm available for a game i will be there. i have no ambitions of bettering myself (as a rugby player or a human being) but love the game as much as the next man. i love a game of rugby and a skin full of booze after. it is my right to take out of the game what i put into it. if everyone like me stops turning out on a saturday because someone tells me their commitment is unacceptable then we can forget about turning 2 sides out never mind 3.

on a final note i would like to say that things at the club are still going well despite what people are saying. the 1st team are winning games and we are moving in the right direction, we've just got a couple of problems with depth and i'm sure it will be resolved

Why do the stags get abuse when there is one and only one incident of players not turning up .Many weeks players turn up and play out of position on a regular basis to help the cause. many players have played on wings when back row, or played at prop etc. It is not this when we are winning pyman cups or winning our league very convincingly. Nothing good or bad is said then!

Dont forget rovers had injuries in this game they could have gone down to 13 but were helped by 2 stags to keep numbers equal

hmmm, are you sure? check the message board history. HBL will be starting his pyman cup thread next week probably and it'll end up with 1000 posts...
