Official West Hartlepool RFC

It has come to light some of the youngsters coming through appear not to want to play for the Ams. Wether this be from peer pressure or deluded people thinking they should only play 1st team or higher i am not sure.
The Ams is a great stepping stone to senior rugby and has helped players transition to playing higher levels of rugby. I really think some of the coaches need to encourage their lads to play as and when they are needed. Of course most will play a higher level and every player should want to play as high a level as possible.
This week i even heard 1 lad had been advised not to play for the Ams as everyone who plays there gets seriously injured!! Utter crap!

Both clubs, West and the Ams have worked very hard over the last few years to bring the clubs closer together and we could not really get much closer to be honest but come on fellas, you know who you are....lets sort this out and get things as they should be.
At the minute i honestly feel there are a few who would rather not play than play for the Ams which is utter rubbish and really needs to change.

Lets not forget though that some of the younger ones have been playing for us the last few weeks, I.E Martin,Nathan, Boyd and I think it was a lad called Tyres last week (on the wing) They must be enjoying it as they keep coming back for more.Not to forget the Bucks have been helping us out the last 2 weeks.

As for serious injuries, have we ever had any?

Ben, i am not forgetting any of this and over the moon these lads have played in recent weeks but you obviously don't know what has been/ is being said...

I dont know what is or isnt being said and nor do I want to know.

I was just making the point that some players do play for us and we appreciated that.

Hang on a minute, the Ams are pleading for "wests" youngsters to play for them? Hmmm, bout time youz all started singing from the same song sheet isnt it?? You'll only lose a few international tickets. Maybe then they'll wnt to play for the "Ams" instead of the almighty quinn havin to put rallying cry out. But in sayin that maybe they dont want to play, its their choice

Of course I'm saying your point isn't valid! You totally contradicted yourself by saying the 'ams' are a separate club then asking for lads who play for 'west' to come and play for the ams. The young lads who play for west expect to play for a west team which u don't seem to understand quinny, me being one of them! Lads who take their rugby half serious don't aspire to play for the ams. The only point you do have is it's a stepping stone but So is the bucks so they'd rather play there. As already said don't sing from a separate sheet and expect lads to play for the ams.

you honestly have no idea do you?? do you know how and why the Ams were formed? Of course everyone should try to play as high a level as possible but not everyone will play 1st team and same as we move down the teams. Therefore if your not picked for the bucks, surely you should be playing for the Ams and trying to get your way into the Bucks?
The Ams are West 4th team in all but name, we even play in the same colour strip for God's sake!!

ive got a brand new combined harvester, If you look back i have said this for a long time. Get your facts right! Also i reckon your IP address is the same as red rum on the Rovers site!!

All i want to do is ensure the Ams keep going, is that a bad thing?? When i am home i do a lot to try to help West grow and keep it going along with several other hardworking people.

I don't, no. To be perfectly honest I don't really care. Maybe to get your international tickets ha! Just seems like everytime I come on here and the ams are mentioned it's either you or someone else feeling sorry for them! Accept that the younger lads don't want to play for the ams and get on with it.

What an arrogant toad hiding behind a stupid name. Why dont you go play on MSN or something. If they aint good enough to play for the Bucks, where will they go then??

Seriously though u need to calm down a bit. Your only annoying your own people. I know your Ams have a long(ish) tradition but its about time you came out as "west 4th team". Then maybe west lad 21 will want to play for you. I hear what your saying and i also hear what west lad 21 saying. Surely it'll be beneficial to "west" that your one?? You need to stop all the 2 clubs crack when everyone knows your the same club really. Then maybe everyone will get a game every week....just a thought

Arrogant? I'm only saying what the majority think! Maybe things would change if it was officially west 4th team! Ask how many of the lads actually want to play for the ams, that might be a step forward in halting your way of thinking! Think I've made my point quinny I'll leave you to contemplate it now before you start rambling on about how much you earn or how hard you work again.

Look quinny if you want the young lads to play for the ams change the image of them, the culture then you might start seeing results! Not many young lads who take their rugby serious want to turn up to a team where no body trains and drinks port before a game do they? If your going to champion the ams as being a stepping stone to senior rugby then make it more appealing/attractive to the young lads, instead of them thinking they are going to turn up to a game with old men! If you looked deeper Into what I was saying I was only trying to give you some advice! You coming on here and being confrontational isn't Going to make them want to play is it now? I rest my case.

I appreciate your views and really don't mean to be confrontational...maybe just the way i am sorry. The Port/ Sherry seems to have stopped now as some of the youngsters did not like it so we are trying to alter a bit;)
Lets draw a line under this and move on....and play for all 4 senior teams playing out of West!
