Cant work it out either fella ? must be thick, i thought i did well, didnt realize i was playing against a load of spivs!

It's cos you only get one point for getting the result right (win, lose or draw)
If you get the result wrong but get the scores close you get the following points:-
4 Points for the correct home/away score or within 3 points.
3 Points for guessing the home/away score within 4-6 points.
2 Points for guessing the home/away score within 7-10 points.

It is basically a prediction league system for football which we modfiied for rugby. If you get the score exactkly right you get 10 points! So far nobody on the West site has ever managed that.

The problem seems to be that there are some identical stats and yet some people seem to have one more point....viz Monkey Boy over FRLE and WTID over my old mate Exiled Westie (are you venturing north this season?) and my goodself.
Can you explain this.

yeah but say WPA went for 100-0 and got right winner but you went for 22-21 and the actual result was 20-21 surely you should be considered to have the closer prediction and so get the most points....

R&O you'll never get a job working with figures. Mikey Boys prediction was closer to the score than FRLE's thats why he got one more point. The numbers in the For and Against columns do not represent their exact predictions.

You have effectively said the F/D/GD columns are surplus to requirements.
The point I was making was that in some places the rows of figures were identical until you reached the points column. What is in the formula that calculates the F/A/GD figures (not that I'll understand, of course!) and is there not a way of making those columns more meaningful?
