Dave Picken - just so that the playing field is fairly level - is a person with an "edcuated palate"the same as a person with an "educated palate" ?
Trophy, of which you speak highly, is a nondescript brew with falling sales and "Black Sheep" is an aquired taste, aquired by people who live in drab Yorkshire villages with limited education. And why bother to insult the members of Hartlepool Cricket Club about their choice of beer ? We might want to borrow their ground one day. Last week I imbibed the John Smiths nectar in Hemel Hempstead, (don't ask why), and the week before in Llandudno. It won't be long now before the conquest is complete. By the way I think I am the only man in town who knows that Calcaria was the Latin name for Tadcaster. Also, I hear of a new brew at this year's Munich Beer Festival called "Johannes Schmidt's Smooth".
