Having missed the article I am not entirely sure what saggy's comments were, but the gist of it seems to be that the Ams have run their course and should now "join" west as a 3rd team.

While there is certainly the need for support from West in bolstering numbers, it is important for the Ams to remain in their own right to some extent. The reasons outlined by Dog and DP are certainly valid.

The formation of the amateurs marks an important time in the history of WHRFC, the chase of glory at all costs, the horrific decisions made by the management of the club and eventual bankruptcy (CVA). If the Amateurs live on only to serve as a reminder of how badly wrong it can go if your loose sight of the big picture, then they need to remain.

The talent being nurtured at all ages and levels will ensure that WHRFC has a bright future ahead.

That future should include the Amateurs.

and it always will, but with comments like what he wrote it doesn't help matters really does it?
I appreciate everyone is entitled to their opinion but what he wrote was totally wrong and out of order

Got to go to Roy's defence. As I always say we are very lucky to have a Sports Editor who knows and cares so much about rugby. Donbt know any other Eveing paper which gives the sort of coverage we get from the Mail. Roy also knows how to spark off debate!!

Also him naming Chummer as the Stags skipper was purely my fault. Sorry Roy Kitto and Chummer.

It certainly was an interesting piece from Roy. I thought it made a lot of sense.

On the other hand you could always argue (as I think someone on this thread already has) they are effectively West 3rds in all but name. And as some people have said, there are benefits from having more than one club.

SCH, another pathetic attempt to stir sh*te up. Sorry not going to work, West Ams are more than happy to forge even closer links with West

Don't think you can expect an apology Andy as Roy got nothing wrong.
He is entitled to express his own opinion and if he has now put your side of things .... but still personally disagrees then that's fair douze.

Andy, you did get your say (as I promised you would) and your story was bigger than the original column you objected to.
