" There is no player in H&D more over-rated than Andrew Turner (Horden)"

Hope I'm talking about the right lad here because I've only ever seen him play a few times, but in my opinion, Andrew Turner has an excellent kicking boot, which no doubt West & Rovers will find out about next season.

Tighe should be fly half
Three Horden players that should be in the squad are Gilmour Temple Thompson

HBL - I wouldn't say I think he's the most overated. however I don't rate him at all. Granted I've only ever seen him play maybe 6 times but he's never played well when I've seen him.

Andrew Turner is a superb goalkicker and a very good playmaker.

HBL,

Got to admire anyone who can top 40 points in one game eh? ;-)

"I am not saying the selection is unfair"

Just incase you were talking to me WPA, I didn't say that you did. If you weren't talking to me then no worries

:-D

Some of the players you mentioned don't play for H&D clubs. Maybe a combined team would give Mowden or Darlo a good game. On the other hand I reckon Blaydon would beat a composite Mowden/Darlington team easily. Don't forget Durham County RFU's strongest lineup would feature some Blaydon players.

On another note, looking at the team sheat for the game v Cheshire on Saturday I notice that not a single Blaydon player is there. This is the leading club in our county who very nearly won promotion to National league 2. IMHO that says everything you need to know about County rugby.

Turner is a very good goal kicker (don't know whether I would stretch to "superb") but in the matches I've seen he certainly hasn't been a good playmaker. maybe he just always plays poorly against west

HBL. Have I ever said anything to upset you?

HBL. He's just upset me as well. I feel a ban coming on.

ok, let me clarify what I mean. I don't rate Turner. However, he is a good kicker (certainly better than average). One good aspect does not make a good player, and I think he's weak in most other areas

right ok, lets see if this helps you...

good goal kicker
average kicker in open play (good distance but haphazard accuracy)
doesn't get his centres going well
slow
poor defence
goes for little breaks himself too often that don't come off

All of that combined means that I don't think he's that good. However, like I said, I've only seen him play a handful of times so I'm not claiming to be some expert on him, or even claiming to be right, all the above is just based on what I've seen. I was just interested in what other people thought, and that was why I asked the original question.
