It must be frustrating for other lesser clubs, (I'm thinking of one especially), so see us surging away. We must have something.
Now if only we could get the Hordle soup recipe........

Surging away? Has this bus missed a major event?

No but the Gateman has surely missed his bus.

I seem to recall another post where I exercised caution to some Westies..........it seems to have beeen completely ignored.

I thought this posturing and trumpeting had been exorcised forever as West plummeted down the leagues.....it is sadly still in vogue it would appear.

What were the finishing positions again in N2E??? Ahh 6th and 7th methinks; league games 1-1, granted a trouncing on Boxing Day and a 6-6 Pyman draw?

Keep collecting the money mate and taking the tablets.....

Come on Rover and Out give us a break. Life has been hard for the past six or seven years.

why is it when west win they feel the need to put the other towns clubs down.yeah its a good feeling to be the best which trophey wise you have proved.but no need in slateing rivals when it isnt about winning just provideing an entertaining game for the town folk to watch and have a banter over a few beers.
nag over and well done the wins have come with great ease:-)

It has been a good end to the season for West so of course we are going to mention it? If you don't want to read about it don't come on the west website.
As for putting opther clubs down who has done that apart from some fool who tried to poke fun at Rovers for having their lights pinched?

Agreed. Noone has attempted to put any other clubs down.

However........

"It must be frustrating for other lesser clubs, (I'm thinking of one especially), so see us surging away."

I can see why some people might find that comment slightly antagonistic.

Sorry it was just teasing ! Lighten up a bit - we've had years of misery heaped upon us and it is nice to see the green shoots of recovery. I am thinking of Wasps 96 West Hartlepool 3 and Rotherham 92 West Hartlepool 6 for example, both games I attended. Full respect and good luck to all other clubs.

West had three 90 pointers though none were at the hands of Wasps

I think there was 91-21 from Harlequins, 93-8 by Rotherham and 95-13 by Doncaster and I was at the first and last games. I seem to remember a 90 points at London Welsh when Incey ran on as a sub still wearing his dutt! But I could be wrong about the severity of the score.

I think 75 per cent of people will be pleased with West's recovery and the way they are playing plus the fact it is a local XV like in the old days. I think you should have a good chance of the top 2 next season.

But a bit premature to be gloating Mr G

Must correct meself, it was Rosslyn Park, not London Welsh and think it was probably 80 something not 90.

Mentioning that game reminded me of two other incidents from there, both involving Pauly Whitelock.

With Rosslyn Dark looking for a try late on a huge fight broke out on the West line but rather than join in, Pauly turned up on the wing to tackle a Rosslyn player into touch by the corner flag to save a try. Most players wouldn't have bothered by that stage

And when he arrived for a line-out in front of the stand an old Rosslyn Park supporter turned to his grandson/great grandson and and said 'When God made rugby, that's how he wanted his props to be built'.

Haven't seen Mr Whitelock for a while, hope he's well

It was 71 - 14 down at Wasps in 1998 i remember having some discussions with their buglers who played every time Wasps scored!

Good Heavens the thought police are very active on here ! Carrotts, when I said "lighten up a bit" I assure you I was not laughing at Rovers bad luck in having their lights stolen. Like all right-thinking people I think the theft was despicable and I hope the thieves are caught and punished although I am not holding my breath. By the way "right thinking" does not mean I supprt the BNP.

Hmmm, my insider with the thought police said that he knew you were going to say that!!!! Any way whats the BNP, is it the Being Nasty Party?

British National Party (just in case you question was genuine :-D Difficult to tell over the medium of a message board)

I'm sure West lost to the tune of 92-0 at Kendal a few seasons back.
