Afternoon all

It seems from the posts on here that I was indeed at the right match and hadn't made my post up.

Fair play to Chris for coming on, however, I can't believe the stamping offender wasn't spotted by the TJ who was only 5 or so metres away, everyone else on that side, myself included did.

The pitch invasion 'defence' is absolute tosh. Someone , player, fan or whatever could have been badly hurt. It doesn't matter what happens in other sports, it shouldn't be happening in rugby let alone our very own Pyman Cup.

In many sports now it is a criminal offence to enter the field of play, at some point in the future someone/nutter may just happen to do something very serious if this trend continues and they will end up in court.

The bottom line is there's no excuse, I've been to many more passionate matches than last night's and they saw no pitch invasions....it seems a new West phenomenon. We can only hope they don't win the Rovers Sevens or we'll see it all over again.

Winding the crowd up seems a rugby wide trend these days, there is no excuse for foul language directed at players or supporters....or will someone now come on here and say it was because of 'passions' running high?

i think the thing that sets last nights "celebrations" apart from others such as the Mossy kick v rovers was that it wasn't just players involved.

If the full team gathers around the player who just scored and start celebrating then some people might not like it and complain that its too much like football but essentially there's nothing wrong with it.

the "hangers on" that people are referring to last night weren't the west subs, nobody would have probably noticed if they'd ran on at the end. I think it was mainly west players from other age groups (colts etc) and they shouldn't have been on the touchline and shouldn't have ran onto the pitch.

having said that, I'm not really overly bothered by it. I think people are making too big a deal out of it. I was more concerned by the horden 10 offering out Chris Wray after the final whistle

MikeyBoy,
I think you misheard on that one. The 10 did see me after the whistle, but only to say he was gutted, and to shake my hand. If he was talking about someone else, then I can't comment.

are you actually serious about someone 'getting hurt' during those celebrations. I joined the celebrations and was also involved in the match and i can tell you for certain that there was more chance of me being hurt playing rugby than during the celebrations! GET A GRIP!!!

Well both teams have blamed each other so why not now blame Old Boys President Ken Potts

The ref said we would not need the lights.

Pottsie thought a draw could be on the cards with 10 minutes to go and so he did put the lights on

Good job or you all would all be at Rovers next week to replay.

By the way my watch showed 16 minutes play in the second half of extra time.

Pottsie drinks Lager

Come on boys the game is over lets move on.. I can understand our joy and Horden's discomfort at the final whistle because it was a tense affair but I have to say that I thought Horden's players were true sportsmen during the presentations and put more than a brave face on it.

it was a good call with the lights.

there were quite a few Horden players going down with injuries during the second period of extra time
