Next season's N2E

Will be interesting to see the make-up of next year's league.

Penrith are up and I guess those nice chaps from Beverley will see off Winnington Park in Saturday's play-off ( I hope so anyway)

Middlesbrough are coming down from North One (it will be interesting to see if they will play Rovers next season, given their vow never to play Rovers 1st XV again ... the clubs do play happily at youth level).

Horden and Sheffield Tigers are coming up and probably Malton & norton too, if they can summon up enough energy to beat Old Crossleyans at home on Saturday (M & N looked out on their feet after their exertions vs Horden on Sat)

this is how N2E should look

Driffield
Hartlepool Rovers
Horden
Durham City
Malton & Norton (or Old Crossleyans)
Middlesbrough
Morpeth
Percy Park
Sheffield
Sheffield Tigers
West

If Beverley do go up, by my reckoning, that leaves one gap to be filled.
If this happens, do we get another side moved over from North Two West? Maybe Aspatria?

Any ideas or corrections would be welcome

You are right Mr Lad, it'll be a big ask just for clubs to stay in it

Looking at the league North2 east for next season is indeed a bit daunting. It certainly looks very strong. We at Beverley hope not to be in it, but if things don't go our way on saturday against Winnington Park, it will still be a privilege playing in it. Good to see Malton nearly back and to see Percy Park survive.

We beat Middlesbrough up there in the Yorks Cup quarter final last week 37 -20 and although the fielded an understrength team we also had four missing and lost three more during the game - so they may not be the force some think in that North 2 East league.

All the best for next season and in any remaining games you have this.

As a long serving Beverley fan myself and an occasional visitor to beaver park, what do you think our chances of promotion are this year. Scoop of beverley do you think we have a good chance against winnington park, has anyone watched them play? I for one will be there on saturaday to cheer the lads along.

hmm, rovers finish behind west, losing 2-1 in head to head encounters, lose their coach, see their 3 best players return to New Zealand...

so a sensible prediction to have them 9 places above west next season!
