The laws limit social groups to six and it is now compulsory to record names and phone numbers of everyone visiting the club.
We have been operating in that way, together with social distancing throughout the club, since the first week in July. But please note that is now against the law to break these rules with fines starting at £100.
What does it mean?
You can come to the club with up to five other teamates for instance, sign in and sit together while observing "one metre plus" social distancing. What you cannot do is stand at the bar or join another group in the room. Anyone not abiding by these laws will not be served and will be asked to leave.
What if there are no vacant tables?
There is a lot of televised sport scheduled including the new football premiership and rugby internationals. If the Stag Bar tables are taken we will open the function room and show the games on the big screen.
What about functions?
We have had to cancel some functions but will be allowed to host small wedding and funeral parties
However, the new laws will have an impact and it will be most helpful if members could continue to support the clubhouse during these difficult times. As one Friday night regular said last week: "I only have a drink at West these days - it's the place I feel safe."
