Back in July 2007, when he was just 12, Ben was one of the English Martyrs' pupils involved in the horrific accident with a school bus outside the club.
He was particularly badly hurt having become trapped under the bus. At the time a number of volunteers, including Rita Westhorpe's dad, were helping to erect our portacabins and rushed to help.
The air ambulance landed on the site of what is now the new clubhouse and Ben spent weeks in intensive care.
As well as becoming a mechancial engineer, talented soloist and band member, he is also a volunteer with the Great North Air Ambulance.
His appearance on Saturday comes courtesy of the senior players who are busy organising a number of events- including this year's end of season celebration and a Ladies Day at the start of next season.
