In the forwards there are a number seasoned campaigners with the in form Liam Larkin at openside and the every lively Mark Cholmondeley on the loosehead. Paul Rudd makes a welcome debut in the Vets team, and it is hoped that Mark Appleyard will last longer than the 25 seconds he managed against Darlington Mowden Park in December.
In the backs West will be looking forward to seeing the Crossfit legend Nick Corrigan and the permatanned Ian Wilson link up in a threatening centre partnership. Darren Thomas (pictured) makes a Vets debut at fullback where he is joined in the back three with the Peter Pan figure of Graham Frankland at 63 and Jon Cole making an appearance after his disciplinary issues at Acklam at the weekend.
West go into the game hoping to get back to winning ways after losing at Mowden Park. The season has shown mixed form with a good performance at the Northallerton 10’s, a win away at Novos and the defeat at the hands of Mowden Park 3rds.
West will be no doubt hindered by the support staff of Robin Jacobs and Mike Siddle who are frankly neither use nor ornament, but do bring a decent supply of sausage rolls for half time.
