Will Angus
It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of Will Angus following an accident on the A689 last night.

Will was a very popular club member and supporter of son Elliott as he played through the age groups at the club culminating in last season's successful Colts side.

He was also a tremendous supporter of nephew Jack during his first team appearances and a keen Sunderland football fan - Will was in the club for all the big games both rugby and football.

During the club development he was always ready to offer his expertise and support along with brother Brian. The flooring throughout the dressing room block was provided free thanks to the efforts of the Angus brothers.

Will was a keen cyclist and was on one of his regular routes when the tragic accident happened. 

The thoughts and deepest sympathy of all at West are with Karen and the whole Angus family.

This man was a real champion of west Hartlepool rugby club... he was a wonderful man, devoted father, friend, and drinking buddy.... My deepest sympathies to his family, I can only say I'm profoundly shocked and cannot imagine what his family are going though. Sad, Sad day for WHRFC

Very sad news. I have known Will since my school days. Top man and a very sad loss.

The Mini and Junior Section of WHRFC expresses heartfelt condolences to the Angus family at this sad time.

Will was a popular and well-respected club member, a diligent volunteer as a team manager within our youth section for many years and will be sorely missed as Elliott joins Jack in the senior ranks.

I had the good fortune to teach Will when I was a PE teacher at Brierton. He was a good all round athlete, and it was a pleasure to help introduce him to the game of rugby. In recent years we often met and talked at the new ground, and it was a great shock to hear of his accident.
My sincere condolences to his family. It really was a pleasure to know him,
