The club is still buzzing in the wake of the world cup tour. Jason Leonard and Ollie Phillips could not have been better ambassadors, and we have had several calls from the RFU to say the visit to Brinkburn was one of the highlights of the Trophy's tour of the North.
Thanks to you all for turning out and having a smile on your face, and to Graham Frankland who organised it all.
The next milestone is the first use of the new dressing rooms on Saturday August 15th. Rochdale are honouring a long standing commitment to make a return journey for a pre-season warm up - made possible by their return to North One West.
They will be bringing between 25 and 30 players for a game which will consist of four 20 minute sessions. Kick off is at 3.00.
We will be using a similar number of players although there are quite a few regulars away on holiday. There will be some "new" faces about with Gav Painter now just about ready to resume action following his leg injury together with Aaron Myers - if his work commitments allow him to figure.
Rob Thorn returns to the club for the first time since 2009. He was at training last night complaining he needed at least another six weeks to get fully fit, and we have also signed experienced Fijian-born hooker Josia Matanatabu - already known to the lads as "Grimsby Joe" - who will provide useful cover.
There are also a number of senior colts ready to move up so it should prove to be an interesting afternoon.
