Aaron returns after distinguishing himself at National level specially as a 7s players, and in the 15 man game with Falcons, Mowden and Wharfedale. He represented England U18s age group, played on the Elite 7s circuit and represented both full senior England and Great Britain 7s teams.

During that time he's picked up a vast amount of coaching knowledge and back in March teamed up with Jamie Connolly to coach the first team on Tuesday nights - a combination which quickly led to a string of improved results.

His most recent club was Wharfedale. However, work commitments and the arrival of baby Junior meant  he was  limited to a few second team games alongside brother Nathan.

Incidentally, Junior's christening party will be at the club at the end of May and promises to be a double celebration as Aaron celebrates his own 27th birthday.

The proud dad said: "I'm really happy to be back at West at such an exciting time.

"The facilities in the new clubhouse are tremendous, and there is a lot of young talent coming through so it will be up to us to create a team worthy of the facilities."

Aaron will line up alongside brother Eldon, who made such an impact when he rejoined the club towards the end of the season. However, like Eldon, he will not be available every week because of work commitments.

Head Coach Iain Dixon said: "Aaron and Steve are two really additions to the coaching squad, and Aaron will be a major asset on the pitch when he is available.

"Wherever he has played he been a stand-out player, and that includes International 7s and National One league rugby."

The club will also benefit from the return of Gavin Painter next season. He's been working hard with Gez the physio on his rehabilitation following an operation on his knee ligaments and, like Aaron, has experience in the higher leagues which will prove invaluable.

Meanwhile Steve Jones (left)  will join Carl Miller in coaching a Colts team which is showing a lot of promise. Last season most of the lads were Under 17's  and playing in what is effectively an Under 18's league. They won't have that handicap this time around and Director of Rugby Graeme Southern is hoping they will go on  to achieve their full potential. He says: "Carl Miller is doing a remarkable job with the lads and the arrival of Steve will help him enormously by allowing him to concentrate on the forwards while Steve works with the backs." Jones, of course, was a lightning quick winger who could break tackles for fun both with West and Wakefield.
