Northern Preview
It's all change in the backs as we head up the A19 to take on a Northern side who put 40 points on Old Crocs last week ...

Peter Youll is away, Scott Butcher is working and Liam Bailey's shift doesn't finish until 2.00.

As a result we have a new centre partnership in Stu Waites and Andy Foreman with Kyle Jamieson getting the reward for some excellent performances for the Stags. He will be on one wing with Matt Tyers continuing on the other.

Zac Southern has shaken off a calf injury to return at fly half with the versatile Luke Mallinson back again in the No 15 shirt.

There is, however, only one change in the pack where Alex Barker [pictured] resumes after his impressive start to the season.

The aim will be to put last week's second half against Ilkley behind us. Two of our strengths - first up tackling and the line-out - deserted us when it mattered the most and the Yorkshiremen were quick to take advantage.

As a result we slipped to ninth and, partly thanks to our lack of bonus points, we are now 12 points behind unbeaten leaders Dinnington. Northern have 7 points and are third bottom.

Northern have also had the pleasure of travelling to the Yorkshire colliery side. They lost 54-21 while we went down 13-0 after turning round 0-0 at half time and with the slope in our favour.

Both clubs have faced Old Crocs. We won there two weeks ago with the 25-17 scoreline a little flattering to us, while Northern hosted the Halifax side last week and won 40-22.

West: Luke Mallinson, Kyle Jamieson, Andrew Foreman, Stu Waites, Matt Tyers, Zac Southern, Ryan Painter, Ian Pinchen, Andrew Rollins, Adam Coates, Owen Bennett, Joe Rafferty, Alexs Barker, Dan Boatman [capt], Sam Miller.

Changes: Liam Bailey, Jack Angus, Chris Atkins.

Interesting selections and looks like we are getting competition for places which can only be good.

We need to work harder on the basics and have a Plan B if Plan A isn't working and start playing heads up rugby instead of flinging the ball about whenever we get a sniff of the line.

Good luck tomorrow lads. Just keep on working for each other for the full 80 minutes and you'll get your rewards.
