Their recall has come at just the right time as a host of new injuries have resulted in the Bucks game at Acklam being called off thanks to the trickle down effect.

From last week's team we will be missing Zac Southern and Andrew Cheslin whose shoulder injury may mean he has to retire from the game. We are all, of course, hoping that isn't the case.

Ryan Painter is back from Paris to resume at scrum half, allowing Andy Foreman to take Ches's place in the centre with Darren Thomas continuing at full back.

In the pack Jack Angus has served his one match ban and is in the front row, which, in turn, allows Michael Hogan to go back into the second row.

Luke Chapman had a very solid game there last week, as did replacement Gary Jackson . They will be in the Stags this week, but together with recent performances from Joe Rafferty, Jordan Baggs and Jay Corbett there is now real competition for places in the forwards.

That isn't quite the case in the backs where the return of hard tackling Liam Bailey is a major bonus. Few centres are also qualified to play at hooker, but that's not somewhere the streamlined Bailey is likely to want to play  - except in an emergency.

He will be hoping for some game time against a Rochdale side who have also been experiencing selection headaches through injury and holidays. As a result they arrive having lost both games - away to Percy Park and home to Sheffield.

We overcame Sheffield by just two points in the first game of the season. Cruising at half time a very young side allowed the visitors back into the game, and only a Stu Waites penalty at the death clinched the win.

We were also a bit naive in defeat at Dinington last week where frustration with refereeing decisions, together with a hard tackling home side, stifled our play. The return of Owen Bennett and Player of the Year Ian Pinchen will give us the option of having some valauable experience in the squad.
