Wheatley Hills Preview
Owen Bennett returns in the second row with Scott Butcher back on the wing, and Colin Cheslin coming in for the unavailable Ryan Painter for the visit of Wheatley Hills. We're also back to three o'clock kick offs ..

Otherwise it's the same side which struggled to get any momentum against a much improved Alnwick side last week.  That defeat effectively ended any chance of a play-off place with planning already underway for next season. Getting more strength in depth and putting more effort into away games being two main considerations.

But before then the aim is to win all of our four remaining home games, but Hills will once again provide stern opposition.

They have slipped down the league since they beat us at their place, and have also lost top try scorer Gaz Burns to a three year ban after the No 8 was found guilty of pushing a referee out of the way. The ref broke his leg after colliding with another player.

Burns has always scored against us but, incidentally,  Adam Coates has also scored in every game he has played against Hills. He scored the pick of the tries last week after being set up by Alex Barker who popped him into space with an excellent inside pass. Coatesy sidestepped the full back in style to go in under the posts.

The return of last week's missing players means changes on the bench as the club also looks to send a strong side to Bishop Auckland for the County Cup game. With Ryan Painter away Darren Thomas comes onto the bench to provide cover at scrum half and on the wings.

Jack Angus returns from his successful stint with the County Under 20's, who are now in the national plate final against Coventry, while Jay Corbett is back from, er,  paintballing.

West:  Luke Mallinson, Scott Butcher,  Andrew Cheslin, Liam Bailey, Peter Youll,  Stu Waites, Colin Cheslin, Ian Pinchen,  Andrew Rollins, Adam Coates,  Michael Hogan, Owen Bennett, Alex Barker,  Jon Boatman [c],  , Sam Miller.

Changes: Darren Thomas, Jack Angus, Jay Corbett.

Always a hard game this one. We might not be able to get the play off position however let's try and finish a creditable third and build on that for next season.
