Squad for Blaydon

Squad for Blaydon
Sam Miller
A 22 man squad is in the first serious competitive action of the season as we travel to national one Blaydon with a 2.30 kick off ...

Sam Miller returns after missing last week's very useful games against Westoe and City at Hollow Drift. Tom Armstrong and Ross Wood are also back from holiday with Armo taking the place of Colin Cheslin who is unaviailable.

Blaydon, the highest placed club in Durham by some distance,  got to last year's final which was never played after Mowden pulled out because of front row problems.

Repeated cry-offs are threatening the Durham Senior Cup's future, but the first round of pre-season gamnes is a useful opportunity for some competitive rugby and the chance for the bigger clubs to give some fringe players a run-out.

West: Pinchen, Rollins, Coates, Wood, Hogan, Bennett, D Boatman [capt], J Boatman, Miller, Myers, Corbett, Barker, A Dixon, Painter, Waites, Bailey, A Cheslin, Youll, Armstrong,  Mallinson, Butcher , Edwards.

Good luck WEST or today and the season. A win today would be a massive fillip for the start of an important season, however a good performance is the most essential. Goddluck to Robbo for the season, sounds as if he has had some good sessions!!!
