Director of Rugby Kevan Oliphant says: "Peter has made an immediate impact and on Saturday at Waterloo you could see his influence. We played very well, and with a bit more luck and a bit better decision making we could have won the game.
"Now we are looking to next season and getting Peter to commit is very good news for the club."
Oliphant and Head Coach Iain Dixon are already making plans for next season in North One East, and are hoping that the decreased amount of travelling will enable more players to return to regular training - and playing.
"Next season will be a very important one for this club," Oliphant said. "We are a National League club and want to get back there as soon as possble, and at the same time we are on course to improve our facilities with the building of our new clubhouse."
This will be Robbo's first coaching appontment with his former club. He had success as coach at both Darlington and Tech before a spell at Rovers 12 years ago.
