Our visitors arrive with a new name - Firwood Waterloo. The name change comes thanks to a five year sponsorship deal with the eponymous local building supplies company, and it has to be said it hasn't pleased everyone who supports this very traditional club. Perhaps it's best just to call them 'Loo.

But, like West, 'Loo have bills to pay and need to improve their facilities. The paperwork for our own bid for a substantial part of our £1.3m project goes in today - so let's hope we have more luck with that than we have been having on the pitch.

Last week saw another blow with the broken leg suffered by Stew Grazier. The No 8 has been one of the better performers this season and he will be in plaster for six weeks.

On the plus side Chunky Taylor is showing signs of being available for first team action. He did manage 15 minutes at Horden for the Stags, but then had to go off to hospital with badly cut eye.

The other good news is that former skipper Anth Carr looks like being available for the rest of the season. The influential prop had only played one first team game this season because of work commitments out of the area. He will be on the bench against 'Loo after playing for the Stags last week.

The  big bonus of the season has been the form of young Nathan Myers. He's learning quickly and will be looking to do a family double over 'Loo - brother Eldon ran in a couple of tries for Billingham in their victory  at Blundellsands last week.

Tomorrow the Myers family will be gathering with the players and families of the old West Warriors junior team. They are sponsoring the game, and their numbers will include Aaron Myers, now of Wharfedale, who is out injured at the moment.

Let's hope they see a West side return to the kind of form which gave Harrogate a fright and which dominated possession at Penrith.

Rossendale were a good side and worth their victory last week, but they were greatly aided by spilled passes. Two virtually clear cut West tries were lost because of dropped balls, with the ultimate irony of one of Rossendale's lightning fast wingers picking up omne of those balls over his own try line, and then racing away to  core at the other end. The veritable stuff of nightmares.

But that was last week. This week there will also be enforced changes in the backs with David Heckels unavailable so the skillful Paul Moss returns as does Andrew Foreman who is now fit again.
