Official West Hartlepool RFC

As ever folks we will be holding a raffle for over 50 bottles of beer/ale during the Beerfest. Raffle tickets are to be on sale with the girls U15 squad lending their support with sales during the day - Saturday 1st July.

We have managed 70+ bottles in the last 2 Fests and this time round setting a target for 100 different bottles. All donations gratefully accepted, if you wish pass on a bit of cash rather than carry bottles I'll start the usual trawl of local shops and work my way along the line buying 1 of each type on offer.

John Cole and Scott Stephenson have kindly given:

Camerons, A-hop-alypse Now Golden Ale 4.3% abv
Harpers Brewing Co. Wild Bill's IPA 5.0% abv
Guinness, West Indies Porter 6.0% abv
Harviestoun, Old Engine Oil Black Ale 6% abv

Les Peacock and Graeme Scott will probably pass on loads as they a) read the message board, b)like to splash the cash c) have connections in other places d) are canny fellas though one of them is a jinner (I'm taking a chance there)

I will report on donations as we head towards the Beerfest and will good-humouredly castigate anyone whom brings in a lager, cider - there is usually 1 of each every year or a can/tin BECAUSE it is a BEER BOTTLE draw. That's not empty bottles by the way and before he asks - NO - crazy craig's Moonshine is not a beer!

Regards to all
Elmo

Looking good Elmo.

I tried a few bottles of McEwans Champion No1 (7.3pc) from my own Cellar last night - wow !!! Makes Old Peculiar feel like Dandelion & Burdock. Better put some Black & Yellow Health & Safety Tape on that one Elmo and make sure Mason Snr gets no where near it - far too strong for him !!!

Don't know what it tastes like Elmo but that's irrelevant, we just have to get a keg of No,17 on draft if it exists - "Radgie Gadgie" _ love it !!!

Cam anybody tell me where I can buy Strongarm in bottles for an exiled son?
Thanks.

Aldi. Rozzy1

Bottles 10 and 11 from Peter Wolfe – sorry Wolfy forgot to highlight your surname

Looking impressive Elmo - good effort mate. Is there a separate prize given to the person who donated the Ale with the highest ABV then ?

That's a possibility - I would expect a 10% plus abv and may award a lump of meat.

It had gone a bit quiet but another old fogey - Gary Powell - and his missus Amanda are sending me shopping for another 4 to 5 bottles dependent on ABV (aka quality of ale) to ensure nay duplicates

whoop

Thanks to Malcolm and Anne Wallis for 4 delightful bottles towards the draw - all brewed exclusively for M & S, they got lost looking for Aldi:

33 Westerham Brewery 9 Hop Kent Pale Ale 4.0%
34 Wold Top Brewery Yorkshire Bitter 3.8%
35 St Austell Brewery Cornish Pale Ale 4.4%
36 St Austell Brewery Cornish IPA 5.0%

All brought to us in a nice cardboard bottle carrier - "cheers to beer"

And Les we are looking likely to receive a bottle of abv 10.7% in the very near future - could be a contender for a nice bit of steak on bbq day of beerfest

The impetus is back folks just keep bringing them in - Ta
