Officers from every force in the country, and even a couple from South Australia, attended what the family wanted to be a celebration of Matty's life.
The 37-year-old officer had been due to take part in the Great North Run to raise money for research into Parkinson's Disease and guests were invited to donate to the charity after his lifelong friend Daragh Burke offered to run in his name - despite not having trained!

Together with our supplier LWC Drinks the club supported the fundraising to the tune of severaL hundred pounds, which was presented to Daragh by Peter Robinson.
The Blades family are great stalwarts of the club, both on and off the pitch, and all our thoughts remain with them.
