The rain has relented so the Firsts are off to Morpeth for the rearranged R2N fixture which kicks off at 2.00 - just ten minutes before England v Ireland. The Stags were due to travel to Northern for their CaNDY league game but we have had to cry-off owing to the nunber of players missing -mainly thanks to Tom Shaw's Stag do in Mexico...

The week has also made a difference to the First team selection with Ellliot Reed available to pack down in the second row and Ollie Connolly at full back.

Hayden Hodgson also starts in the front row, after an impressive performance for the North of England Under 18's last week against London and the South East at Warwick University. Unfortunately, the game was abandoned at half-time with the scores level at 7-7. The North scrum half suffering an injury whch required an ambulance which was not readily available. Fortunately, he has since made a good recovery.

There's also a return to action for prop Liam Pennick after recovering from his broken collarbone,  and he will be on the bench alongside  the promising Loius Ward and the experienced Matt Siddle,  who's able to cover any position in the backs.

West go into the game in fourth place with Morpeth just behind in sixth.
