Wait until Robbo reads this in the Sheffield paper ...
“These were two wins that we really needed two weeks ago,” Byron told the Telegraph.
“We have still got a lot to do, but the pressure is off because we are the underdogs.
“We are in an uphill battle and no-one expects us to get out of this, but things are starting to work and we are playing with freedom.”
Sheffield will now go in search of their first away win of the season when they travel to the North East to take on third place West Hartlepool at Brinkburn.
Byron insists his team have nothing to lose when they take on this weekend’s opponents, and has highlighted the second 40 minutes as ‘crucial’ to their chances of returning to South Yorkshire with their third straight victory.
“We need to keep the game in our hands and the first target is to get four points,” Byron added.
“They’re very strong up front and we know we are going to absorb a lot of pressure in the first half.
“We are a fitter pack than what they are, though, and we will be looking to expose that in the second 40 minutes.
“The gloves off now and we need to go there and score as many tries as possible.”
