Why is the Final of the Shield on the same day as the Cup semi's? Surely it would make sense to play either both finals on the same day to ensure no second teamers find their way into the 3rd teams or play the final on a free Wednesday to ensure a big crowd?

Then to top it all off you could have the winners of the cup against the winners of the shield.

good idea having two competitions but I agree about the final and semis being o0mn the same day>>thats just daft>>the Shield final shoulkd be on a Tuesday or a Thursday which are days the lads are used to training on anyway>>

Should have an agreement between the clubs about being cup tied.
If you've played in the Pyman Cup, you're not eligible to play in the Shields.
This would stop clubs loading teams in the latter stages.

You know as well as I do that if its not a condition of participation then someone, somewhere will exploit the "loophole".
It would also take away the constant doubts and bickering about "he played 1st team last week" and the like.
I would like to see an exchange of emails from each club saying that they are in agreement.
