The Stags are looking for a final flourish as the historic Pyman Cup sees Hartlepool 'A' arrive at Brinkburn for a semi-final, which will see the winners take on Rovers next weekend (Kick off 3.00). The Heughers beating Peterlee and Horden 33-19 on Wednesday night ...

The Stags go into the game on the back of a 40-36 defeat at Upper Eden Boars last week - only their third in the CaNDY league this season. However, they only needed a point to clinch the league title and promotion to CaNDY One. That was secured after less than 20 minutes with the fourth bonus point try.

It was a hard fought game on a bone dry pitch and there were a few knock. There were a few more  during training last night - there was thunder and lightning on the horizon but none of the much needed rain fell on Brinkburn.
