The Academy will be flying the flag for the club at Scarborough after unavailabiities and the rigours of last week's defeat to Middlesbrough led to the first team withdrawing from the Papa Johns Cup game at Silver Royd ...

The senior game was due to kick off at 3.00 following a sponsors' lunch, but that spot will now be taken by the Academy game.

With only two regular first team front rows, no second rows and one back row available for selection the decision to withdraw was taken on Monday. It was highly regrettable as it's the first time the club has pulled out of the PJ cup and as Scarborough did come to Brinkburn in last year's cup.

The lads lost 59-5 but had a great day and “blooded” eight Under 16s
