At the same time West were overcoming a competitive Consett 39-28 at Brinkburn. It was a game notable for six home tries and for some excellent individual performances including from the two Wills – Messrs Corbett (right) and Hilditch. Both start this week in a side which will see the return of skipper Ryan Painter as well as Jay Corbett and Tom Robertson in the pack. Jake Linighan dropping into the back row in the absence of the injured Alex Barker. The skipper is the only change in the backs with Matty Baggs dropping to the bench alongside Charlie Kay and Jonny Wray. The Stags will be looking to keep their unbeaten league run going. They will be boosted by Chris Atkins’ return to No 8. Chris had a run out at centre for the Stags last week, following his lengthy injury lay-off, coming through unscathed. He will now be in his customary position in a back row which will also see Connor McLurg packing down with the up and coming Odin Thorpe. |

There’s a few front rows not available at the moment. Fortunately, former first team skipper Anth Carr has volunteered to be on the bench after hitting the gym in recent months and looking very fit.
