Last week's entertaining defeat of Consett was a significant boost for West considering how many young faces were in the team which produced one of the best performances of the season.

The challenge is to take that form into this week's game against the side above. Stockton and Morpeth both have 28 points with West on 27 - as a result a mini-league is developing between the North East sides all seeking safety and mid-table respectability.

The three teams below are all Cumbrian. Cockermouth now almost certainly heading for relegation after their no-show at Percy Park resulted in their only five points being deducted. Upper Eden occupy the other "automatic" relegation place with 16 points, while third bottom Keswick have been improving of late and are on 24 points.

It all matters because the RFU have made clear that "two up-two down" is not a given come the end of the season as they will look to balance leagues based on minimum travelling distances.

Some enforced changes from last week because of injury - notably to Connor McLurg and work commitments for Will Corbett. Skipper Ryan Painter, Jay Corbett, Will Hilditch and Lewis Scott  are all also still in Gez's physio queue.

However, Jake Linighan is available this week and starts in the back row with Josh Wilson in the second row alongside Ollie Webster. The backs will be unchanged after running in some excellent tries last week.

Last week the Stags travelled to Consett with only 12 men. This week they have a cast of thousands.
