Promotion was guaranteed with last week's defeat of Rovers and now the aim is to fullfil skipper Ryan Painter's ambition of going undefeated in the league this season.

Acklam will be looking to deny him his wish and came close in the game at Talbot Park in November, which West just shaded 19-17. The Teessiders went on to enjoy a good run of form which saw them move into the top half, however  two home defeats - 31-41 to Sunderland and 22-24 last week to Old Boys - have seen them slip to sixth.

The usual team changes to this week's line-up due to work commitments and injury. In the front row Liam Pennick comes in for Tim Blades and in the back row Isaac Robinson returns in place of Jake Linighan, while the backs are unchanged.

There is a new bench with Jack Angus fit again to provide front row cover, and young flanker Charlie Kay continuing his development with Lewis Scott returning to action to provide back's cover.

The Stags are also able to put out a strong and more experienced squad. It includes Ross Wood, Liam Larkin and Scott Butcher in the pack with Stu Waites, Martin Todd and Zac Southern in the backs.

The first team need 19 more points to reach the 700 mark for the season - an average of 35 points per game. It's been entertaining for spectators but a little costly for the members of Points West who volunteered to pay 10p for every point scored this season.

More than 30 of them will be enjoying their traditional last game bash this week. With several games still to go organiser Graham Frankland has rounded up this season's contribution to £80 each - the price of success! The Points West members will also be presenting their Unsung Hero award after the game. 

Two away game coming up finish off the league season - Darlington next week followed by the rearranged trip to Novos. That should all be followed by the new Papa Johns Community Cup which has seen 32 clubs enter at our level across the country.

Our "level" is the top 4 clubs in the various Counties 1 leagues but, as yet, there's no information on how the knockout competition will be drawn later this month. Will the first round be drawn regionally? Will it be seeded so the team which finishes top of the league get a home draw? Regardless, entering the competition means a club is only four games away from a potential Twickenham final on May 7th.
