In the early moments of the game, Charlie ran hard at Dom Cox, Dom hauled down Charlie not without seeing starsJ Liam, on the other hand, was a consistent annoyance throughout the game, relishing the opportunity to play against his own team.
The game was filled with exciting moments, from great forward drives from lineouts, to lovely backs moves it was from one of these early catch and drive lineouts that saw Waites feed Zac who pulled of a great training ground move switching the play to Jordan who ran under the posts for the first try. Zac converted the try, putting the Stags in the lead.
Novos were not to be outdone, with an interception allowing them to run the length of the field for a converted try.
From a scrum the ball was moved into midfield and a ruck saw the ball moved to the blind side a neat grubber by Zac saw Tyo drop on the ball over the line, unfortunately the ref did not award the try.
The game was filled with great interplay between the backs and forwards, with both teams pushing each other to their limits.
And just when it seemed like the Novos might be gaining the upper hand, the West forwards drove play up field with some strong running by Penno who was a constant nuisance in the loose from 8 brushing of Novos players, this set up the backs with Novos on the retreat allowing Todd came back against the grain to score, with Zac unfortunately missing the kick.
But the stags were not done yet, with great set plays and excellent co-ordination between the backs and forwards leading to more tries, including a breakaway by try by JT hitting and excellent line. JT then made another excellent break and with Tyo on his outside screaming for a pass with 1 defender to beat JT went deaf and managed to butcher a simple 2 on 1, the forwards managed to recycle the ball when he was tackled and he was saved as the ball went wide again and Coates hit a good line to score.
West forwards continued to make progress with good carries from Hadwen, Penno and Cameron supported by the pack to allow Todd to use his bulk to get another 2-foot crash over the line.
A great break by Ross traveling at speed up the touch line with the line in sight was unfortunately cut short by a sniper and Ross hit the ground hard.
More great play by the forwards linking with the backs, moving the stags up the pitch to within a pass of another score from this position a great scrum from the Stags saw Novos going back at pace, the ball popped out and quin flopped on the ball over the line, conversion missed. Game over!
Highlights of the game Spud playing for Novos running over Liam in his excitement he was then stripped by Stu Waites!

Amazing fact of the day Coates managed a full 80 minutes without any injury!
Food amazing as usual, especially in the sponsors room.
