The Brinkburn  pitch is completely frozen and with no sign of a thaw until late Sunday the club has informed Rovers that the league game won't be going ahead -  with confirmation to the RFU on Saturday morning being a formality. Friday morning's photo tells its own story with the early notice allowing players to enjoy work's Christmas parties. The league game is now likely to be scheduled for Saturday February 25th with this weekend's Heughers v Stags CaNDY league game also off.

Both clubs are now hoping it won't be a white Christmas, with Brinkburn due to host the Boxing  Day game for the first time in four years, after the 2020 game was cancelled because of Covid.

The game will be contested for the  Bill Bowden Memorial Trophy following the joint decision to end the Christmas friendly between the two second teams.

There will be a local derby coming up for the Stags as they have been drawn away to Old Boys in the County Cup. Games to be played on or before January 21st.
