Message received from Burnage:

On behalf of everybody here at Burnage RFC. Please accept our condolences following the sad news of the loss of your President, Reg Turner. We know that Reg loved his Rugby and that he will be remembered by your club and celebrated in true Rugby style.

We lost our fixtures secretary a few weeks ago after his 37 years at the club, so we know the impact that this kind of loss has on the club and its members.

Please pass on our best wishes to Reg's family and friends at West.

Kind Regards

Steve Willock
President

Burnage RFC

I have known the Turner family all of my life and was shocked when I heard the tragic news. My thoughts go out to Joyce, Stephen Sue and their families.

One everlasting memory of Reg sums him up to me. On tour in 1990, Reg met us at Houston airport when we were changing planes en route to New Orleans. He and Joyce then joined us in New Orleans for a few days before returning to their home in Texas. The number of posts from Texas is testimony to the impact Reg made whilst over there.

THe picture of the opening of the Brierton Lane clubhouse in 1970 brought back fond memories as I was there at the time and I remember Sue also being present.

A fitting tribute today with victory over Birkenhead Park.

My prayers and deepest sympathy go out to Joyce and the Turner family.

I first met Reg and Joyce in 1986 when I moved to Houston and joined Bay Area RFC. Reg was a great coach and a great man who gave selflessly back to his community and the game of rugby.

He touched the lives and made a positive influence on so many people both in and outside the game of rugby. With fond memories we will all dearly miss him.
