Four Dragons Disabled Swimming Club members represented Wales this past weekend (4-5th March) in the DSE National Junior Championships 2006 at Ponds Forge, Sheffield. The Dragons D.S.C. contingent of the Welsh squad were Sam Bateman, Jade Howe, Jordan Howe and Robert Morgan.
The four swimmers returned home with 7 Golds to add to the large haul of medals that helped the Welsh squad finish 6th out of 14 teams.
Jade Howe won four Golds while Robert Morgan won 3 Golds. Sam Bateman and Jordan Howe made their debuts at a national event earning valuable experience in major competition. Sam earned two fourth place finishes while Jordan was unfortunately disqualified for a false start, but both swimmers will have learned a lot from the weekend and enjoyed the opportunity to swim against experienced swimmers including former Dragons swimmer Kate Arnold, who was competing in her final Juniors event.
