Hello and welcome to the website for the Dragons Disabled Swimming Club
The Dragons Disabled Swimming Club is one of the leading disabled swimming clubs in Wales. We have been running since 1993 and have produced swimmers who have gone on to represent Britain at Paralympic and World level. Some swimmers to have come through the ranks at the Dragons include one of our coaches and 7 times Paralympic Gold Medalist David Roberts MBE, Paralympic Gold Medalists Gareth Duke and Nyree Lewis, and Paralympic medalists Liz Johnson and Rhiannon Henry.
Our aim is to offer competitive minded disabled swimmers the opportunity to compete in competitions at regional and national level. Ultimately the aim of the club is to allow swimmers the opportunity to develop to a standard where they could achieve selection for the Welsh and British teams.
We are constantly on the look out for more swimmers to join our club. To become a Dragons D.S.C. swimmer you would need to be a competitive minded swimmer of any disability or age who can comfortably swim 25 metres.
We are currently based in Caerphilly Leisure Centre and have a session every Saturday evening from 6:30 - 7:30pm. We have five qualified coaches who attend most sessions.
If you are interested in joining the Dragons and can swim 25 metres comfortably see the Contact Us section to find how to join the Dragons.
