Special Olympics 2005 Results Dragons DSC swimmer Katrina Mitchell represented Wales at the 2005 Great Britain Summer Special Olympics in Glasgow. She bought home 1 individual Gold and 2 Silvers along with 1 Gold in a relay.

Dragons DSC swimmer Katrina Mitchell represented Wales at the 2005 Great Britain Summer Special Olympics in Glasgow. She bought home 1 individual Gold and 2 Silvers along with 1 Gold in a relay.

The Special Olympics Great Britain National Games are held every 4 years. This year was the 7th games and was held in Glasgow from July 2nd to 8th 2005. This was the first time that the games had been held in Scotland. Nineteen teams from throughout Great Britain competed, with ten from England, one from Wales and eight from Scotland.

 

Katrina competed in three individual events; 100m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle and 200 Individual medley. She was also part of the Female 4x50m Medley Relay. She won Gold in the 100m Butterfly and picked up two silvers in the 100m Freestyle and the 200m Individual Medley. As part of the relay team she won another Gold Medal.
