Five former Dragons Disabled Swimming Club swimmers are in action for Great Britain this week in two international competitions. David Roberts, Nyree Lewis, Gareth Duke and Liz Johnson were competing in the Nedbank Championship for the Physically Disabled in Durban, South Africa, while Kate Arnold of Swim Swansea swam in the Danish Open in Esbjerg. The competitions gave Team GB the opportunity to begin preparing the swimmers for the IPC World Championships in Durban, South Africa in 2006 and also allowed the opportunity for some of the young, up and coming swimmers such as Kate Arnold the chance to gain experience in international competitions.

Kate Arnold who started off at the Dragons before moving on to Swim Swansea competed in her first major competition with the British team in Denmark in the Danish Open which ran from March 11th – 13th. Kate was swimming against swimmers from Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Sweden and Norway amongst others.
