The City of Newcastle Golf Club won the prestigious League Title for the 3rd time in five years(previously 2007 & 2009). In a nervy climax to a very competitive season to ultimately close the door on an incredibly strong Ponteland team.  The Captain of the City, John Harrison, the players & members are delighted to have won the title.  The players are applauded for their individual and collective committent throughout the season.  A champions club.  John May Chairman

The final match of the season and what a night to remember, torrential rain, evening sunshine and enough tension in the air you could have cut with a knife.

The first three games out went to the home side leaving the City with no points as late in the evening as 8.30. Reports that our nearest rivals were winning, the team needed points badly.

In stepped Phil, Neil and Simon, the last two going to the final hole, to bring in the 6 points needed to clinch the league top spot.

Thanks to our loyal supporters who stayed behind to see the trophy presented to the City, Newcastle & District League Champions 2011.
