2011 English Amateur Championship
Phil RIDDEN of the City of
Newcastle Golf Club played exceptionally well to reach the quarter finals of the
2011 English Amateur Championship played at the Woburn Course commencing the
25th July.
286 elite players teed off on the first day playing over
two courses. Phil returned an outstanding 66 on the first day - the best
score on the day He then qualifed on the second day for the match play
knockout stage of the champioship.
The match play brought
the players with the lowest sixty four scores together to vye for the
championship.
Phil was successful in progressing to the quarter
finals where after fierce competition he ultimately
lost 2&1.

Phil and many successes in the future.
