Varsity match, not that we won but wicked game! Brilliant backs manoeuvres pulled off some stunning tries.
Worst Rugby moment
A Harlequin lady scoring all the Tab tries in the Varsity Match. Still, I downed my pint first afterwards.
Rugby ambition
Being part of the team that gets promoted into the Premier Division
Why rugby
I play rugby because it makes me feel alive! The quality of a game is so dependent on the skills and mood of the players that there is always a new challenge to rise to.
Describe yourself
I like challenges, variety and pushing my limits. I don’t like planes or cars and dream of a day when everyone will walk, run or cycle to get around. I’m married to a very kind and patient man who helps me provide a home for our two cats.
Favourite alcoholic beverage:
Fine red wine/ vodka & fresh fruit cocktails
Other sports
Running and cycling mostly. Does pogo stick qualify as a sport? Skiing. Windsurfing when I get a chance. Odd bits of swimming and tennis. Ooh, rollerblading, especially at Stockwell skatepark.
Favourite meal
Lamb shank with wilted spinach and carrot/ swede mash, followed by an intense hit of chocolate mousse
Favourite film
Gross Point Blank
Most likely to say:
“Did you mean my other left?”
Least likely to say:
No to a challenge
Favourite quotation:
I love deadlines – I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. (Douglas Adams).
Best holiday (why):
Excepting the Honeymoon, I’d probably pick a trip to North Spain last year. Why? Beautiful country, beautiful people, the most amazing food, huge mountains, great surf and fine beaches.
Claim to fame:
Well, if you google me under my maiden name (Ireland) you link to a Pool tournament and to said Varsity match. Otherwise I was in a local paper once when I was about 9 and I also overtook Iain Duncan Smith in the marathon last year.
